CAIT writes to govt for sanitisation, disinfection plans for commercial markets before lockdown ends New Delhi, Apr 21 (KNN) The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has called on sanitisation and disinfects plans for commercial markets before the lockdown ends.

In a communication sent to Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, the traders body has stressed the need of making a comprehensive plan for sanitisation of shops and commercial markets all across the country to remove any possibility of Corona virus or any other virus or other different kinds of infections.

The CAIT has also sent similar communication to Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan and also to Chief Ministers of all States.

Keeping in mind the health and safety of millions of Indian retailers and consumers, it is necessary to sanitise the shops and commercial markets. Keeping shutters closed for such a long time might have dilapidated the inner conditions of the shops increasing the possibility of dust, filth, bad smell and other infectious viruses which needs to be sanitised before resuming the normal operations of business, CAIT National President BC Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal.

Both Bhartia and Khandelwal said that on the other hand, due to the widespread of the Coronavirus, India’s commercial markets will remain vulnerable to heavy population exposure.

Therefore, the markets will have to be completely sanitised and disinfected for Coronavirus and all other types of possible virus infections. The sanitisation process must begin before the lockdown is lifted and will have to be periodically carried out until the Coronavirus is completely eradicated out of India, they added.
